I have always been passionate about music and have been inspired by my teachers. While I was studying Music at the University of Chichester, I took particular interest in the instrumental and vocal teaching modules, as well as performance. I played with many different groups there, including Contemporary Music Group and the University Orchestra.
Since Graduating six years ago, I have been working in schools across Norfolk including Hethersett Old Hall School, North Walsham High School Saturday Arts and Beccles Free School. At these schools I help with several extra-curricular groups. I believe it is important for students to be able to work together on performances as well as individually. At North Walsham High School I have run a series of workshops aimed at young children as an introduction to music around the world and at Hethersett I have led ensembles including the school orchestra and wind band. I also teach at Busybodies Stage School, as well as Northgate High School, the Anglia Regional Theatre School and recently Notre Dame Prep School.
I played Saxophone in the Bournemouth student big band with which I travelled to France, Belgium and Spain. I have also played flute and piccolo in several concerts with the Mozart Orchestra in Norwich and currently play principal flute with the St Gregory's Orchestra and Imperial Vienna Orchestra, as well as being a part of a number of smaller ensembles. I played clarinet, flute, piccolo and saxophone for Mixed Voice's production of West Side Story at the Norwich Playhouse in August 2016.
