I have always been passionate about music and have been inspired by my teachers. While I was studying Music at the University of Chichester, I took particular interest in the instrumental and vocal teaching modules, as well as performance. I played with many different groups there, including Contemporary Music Group and the University Orchestra.
Since Graduating ten years ago, I have been working in schools across Norfolk including Hethersett Old Hall School, Town Close Preparatory School, Notre Dame Prep School, as well as several others. At these schools I help with several extra-curricular groups. I believe it is important for students to be able to work together on performances as well as individually. Whilst working at North Walsham High School I have run a series of workshops aimed at young children as an introduction to music around the world and at Hethersett I have led ensembles including school orchestras and various wind bands. I currently also work at Taverham High School and Beccles Free School
I played Saxophone in the Bournemouth student big band with which I travelled to France, Belgium and Spain. I have also played flute and piccolo in several concerts with the Mozart Orchestra in Norwich, played principal flute with the Imperial Vienna Orchestra and currently play principal flute with St Gregory's Orchestra, as well as being a part of a number of smaller ensembles. I have performed in several shows in Norwich, including West Side Story, Little shop of horrors and Sinigng in the rain.
