My Teaching

I teach piano, flute, piccolo, clarinet, saxophone and music theory to students of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners through to more advanced musicians.

Every lesson is tailored to the individual, taking into account each student's experience, learning style and personal goals. Whether you're working towards graded examinations, preparing for auditions or music scholarships, or simply learning for the enjoyment of making music, lessons are planned to help you progress with confidence while enjoying the learning process.

I also offer music theory lessons up to Grade 5, helping students develop the knowledge and understanding needed to support their practical playing and examinations.

I teach privately from my home in Dereham, providing a comfortable and welcoming environment where students can learn and develop at their own pace.

Although my own training is rooted in classical music, I enjoy teaching a wide variety of musical styles and encourage students to explore the music they love alongside developing a strong technical foundation. I believe that learning an instrument should be both enjoyable and rewarding, helping students to build confidence, creativity and a lifelong appreciation of music.
